We rectify aerial photographs with a technique that we have developed oureselves which finally makes us independent of control points in the photo and the map: For a successful implementation to orthographic pictures we only need three lines arranged differently such as the edge of the road or borders of the field sector. Control points and -lines can be combined.
Detailed photographs often offer not enough indication for rectification:
To solve this problem we latch them into photos of a smaller scale which are easier to work with and rectificate them together.
With this procedure it is now possible to utilize a lot of aerial photographs that could not have been processed before.
The transparent superimposing of the rectified photos into the field map now enables a simple visual control for mistakes in the relevant area and not only at the borders of the photograph.
With the means of digital image editing we can intensify relevant features of the picture by filtering and thus explicitly elaborate them.
