Animated map showing the development during the Roman times

For the exhibit “War and Peace: Celts, Romans, and Germans,” Digital Archeology presented an animated map of the development of Europe during Roman times. The exhibit opened on June 21 at the Rheinischen Landesmuseum in Bonn. The map is a central part of the museum’s exhibit, sitting at the entrance of the show. Using GPS data and advanced computer modeling techniques, the map will show visitors a highly detailed, 3D aerial view of Europe, showing an unprecedented perspective on the history of the continent during Roman times.
